Fishing Comes to Wizard101!
Grab your fishing pole Wizards, it’s time to hit the open water and find your prize. We’ve wanted to include fishing in Wizard101 since before its launch almost six years ago, and now it’s finally here!
What makes fishing different in the Spiral? Magic of course! Wizards cast a magical lure into open waters to create a truly unique fish. Don’t expect any boring ol’ Salmon or Marlin in the Spiral… instead we have rare species like the Deathacuda and the (potentially tasty) Fish Sandwich. If you love hearing about the new and exciting kinds of fish you can catch, make sure to check out the Fishapedia created by Mercenaries for Hire.
These dedicated Wizards have taken the time to catch, identify, and record each type of fish in the Spiral! Have you caught them all yet?
If you’re new to fishing or having trouble getting that prized catch, check out another one of our great fan sites. Not a huge fan of fish? Well, that’s outrig-ragious (outrig… outriggers… get it?). That’s okay, even if fish alone aren’t your thing fishing can add great value to your Wizard. Sometimes instead of a fish, your Wizard can catch an elusive treasure chest. These chests are filled with cool items ranging from gold to Crowns items!
In the real world, one of the largest fish ever caught weighed in at nearly 1500 pounds! We’re not sure there are fish that big in Wizard101, but they definitely are going to be a lot more magical! What’s better is that you can show off your best fish in new fishtanks that will look awesome in your house. Look at this amazing “wall of fishtanks” that Paige Moonshade has created:

I was just thinking, how cool would it be if we could fish at our castles? For example, the Wooded Cottage has a small pond at the bottom of a water fall and a stream where fish could be. We could invite friends for fishing and such, and we wouldn’t have anyone else trying to catch the same fish or interrupting us. Just a thought.
I have the Wooded Cottage and I oersonally think that is a great idea! Then you wouldnt have to go to Grizzleheim to fish
yeah cool idea can you all read mine i want to know if you like or not i really want to know and you can fish in bear contry? ( that is what i call Grizzlehiem) i need to try that out plus i got a whooper or however you spell it :3
It is a good idea. I got a life house, ponds everywhere. so I would like to fish in the “Comfort of my own home” If you know what I mean

some houses like the life house from crown shop have ponds, rivers and such. would it be possible for us to place fish in them in a fish pond type setting? or perhaps a pond version of aquarium?

It would be amazing if we could fish in our houses. Maybe you guys should make a house designed for fishing, like the red barn farm was for gardening.
Can you add an option to mix up spells with yourself or another player?

It’d be really cool if there was a special fish tank like the one from the Atlantean Bundle and you could put fish in it and swim in it and stuff 😀
It’s an awesome idea but the green energy is already overworked with pet training and gardening, would be nice if the fishing energy was a different type of energy, like yellow or something for exp.
hey good thinking, its more time to explore and be competitive with friends. but what would make it better that make a contest on who can catch the highest fish, maybe do a big reward afterwards 😀

I am excited about fishing. I’ve wanted it for awhile now. But mostly I want a fishing outfit…fishing hat (with lures and stuff on it), Waders (boots), and fishing pole (wand). 🙂

why would i fish in a wizard game? create some new gear or something. why would i want to go fishing when i could just farm a boss?
