Wizards and Pirates are thankful, too!
If you were teleporting through the Spiral or sailing through the Skyways last November, you might remember when KingsIsle gave away a free monolith housing item to each player. The reason? An impressive milestone: 50 million lifetime players between Wizard101 and Pirate101. Of course, it didn’t hurt that November is the month for giving thanks!
Fast-forward one year, and another Pirate101 and Wizard101 holiday season is upon us. Here’s a list of just some of the things players are thankful for this year.
A whole new world
When you think about it, it’s fitting that the newest area of the Spiral made its debut during the winter months. Polaris is filled with snow and ice, not to mention polar bears, penguins, walruses, and other creatures traditionally associated with cold temperatures. Level 100 Wizards eager to explore this whole new world are bound to be thankful—and busy—this Thanksgiving!
The catch of a lifetime
Although fishing has been around since the summer of last year, it became a lot more comprehensive over the course of 2015. Now there are fishing locations in a ton of different areas across the Spiral, and the water (or lava, in Dragonspyre’s case) is filled with an ever-expanding array of fish, some rarer than others. There’s a whole host of lures and spells to make landing the catch of a lifetime a little easier, and players can even craft Multi-Tank Aquariums to display the fruits of their labor. Did we mention there’s even a Mystic Fishing Bundle for those who are truly serious about taking their fishing to the next level?
Social giveaways
Do you follow Wizard101 and Pirate101 on social media? If not, you’re missing out on a plethora of ways to snag some free stuff—snacks, housing items, pets, you name it! Striking it lucky
Earlier this year, the Terror’s Hoard Pack and the Rockhammer’s Jewel Pack became the latest Game Card Packs available for Wizard101 players. The Darkmoor-themed Terror’s Hoard Pack comes with the chance to win Floating Eye Relic weapons, the Brainy Assistant Pet, the Terror Dog Mount and more, while Rockhammer’s Jewel Pack offers the opportunity to get your hands on rare Jewels—plus the Socket Wrenches you’ll need to make use of them! There’s no guarantee that these or other Card Packs will give you the items you’re hoping for, so striking it lucky is truly something to be thankful for!
Bartleby
Last, but definitely not least on our list is the one and only Bartleby. Also known as the Grandfather Tree, Bartleby is said to have sung the Spiral into existence. Basically, without him, your favorite MMORPG wouldn’t exist! This Wizard101 Thanksgiving, players can show their gratitude by heading to Polaris, where they will work to figure out the cause of a mysterious illness afflicting the legendary tree.
