Today we have a very special guest blogger… Headmaster Merle Ambrose from Wizard101! Merle has some very important information for you about how to keep your KingsIsle Account safe and in good standing.
The popularity of any game brings with it those who seek to take advantage of other players. We have many ongoing safeguards to protect players from sharing personal and account information within the games, however it is up to you to keep your account information safe outside of the games.
We’d like to take this opportunity to remind our players that any website offering you Crowns, Memberships and items for free or at a discount should not be trusted.
Anyone that asks for your password is clearly doing nothing more than trying to steal from you.
Anyone that asks you to download a program to cheat at the game is cheating you.
Don’t fall for it, it will cost you your account, your characters, your pets and all your other hard-earned game rewards.
Theft is never ok, and players found to be in receipt of stolen goods will be sanctioned. It is up to you to keep your account information private, and if your account is found purchasing or interacting with any of these fraudulent websites your account will be banned.
Be sensible and ask yourselves if this person or website is really going to give you an item worth real money for free or for less than you can buy it regularly. The answer is no, they’re not. They’re going to take your account away and disappear, or worse, use your account to scam other people. It’s not a very nice thing to do, but the only way an account can get compromised is if you share your account information with someone. Some people mistakenly call this a hack. To be clear, giving someone else your account information is account sharing. This violates the Terms of Use and will result in your account being banned. You are fully responsible for all activities conducted through your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for any use of your password to gain access to your account and your account information.
Please heed our cautionary tale and protect your account information, or you will find yourself banned from all KingsIsle games.

Hey Good job this i’m sure helped a lot of people, Whenever i’m stuck and look something up on youtube for the game one of the first thing I see is “Crowns Generator” And I find it very annoying when I see that because its for sure not real, Thanks again for keeping people and there accounts safe, Good Job Headmaster Ambrose 😀

I lost my wizard named Tara PearlFlower. I was guilty of it and I had to start a whole other one so I will not share my account with anyone. Thanks for the advice. Hope no one will hack into my account or my friends accounts. Bye!
I love this game but I hate seeing young wizards get fooled out of their account! I see allot of wizards being pressured to gift someone else or they will “hack them” If I see them I will tell them its not true and they shouldnt worry as long as they dont give their info away!
Thanks. My friends have been hacked and their accounts were stolen. I never share any personal information with anyone because i know what can happen.

Take heed young wizards, not only do you risk losing your wizard but all the friends you have made. That is a loss you may never get back.
as a Wizard101 Player since 2008, I’m sure a lot of People in those last few years has shared their account Details with another people. Just i dont know why they do something danger and Can Make them lose their Accounts like that, Good From Merle Ambrose that he warned everyone with that. Nice work

I’ve been playing wizard101 for over 3 years now, and having friends banned is a very sad thing. I’m glad you made a point to try to protect people from this issue. After the connections I’ve made with people and the time I’ve invested in this game, I could never imagine losing it all.

Thank you Master Ambrose. There are lots of people walking through the worlds advertising these websites as if the are part of the game. It could be easy to get fooled by these promises. Lots of kids will lose what they have worked hard for – all of their characters! We have to be smart when we play. 🙂
Yes , there are people going around “advertising” I say “bragging” about doing these so called game hacks and websites. They should be reported at once and banded also.
I have been compromised twice, I was younger and I didn’t know about scammers, DON’T TRUST ANYBODY. They usually approach you saying stuff like “Hey, wan’t me to buy you some crowns?”. Either say no or say “Give e the card number and tell me how many crowns you will let me buy” Anything beyond that is a scam,

As someone who fell prey to this scam and thus had my account taken and lost my friends, who I miss dearly, I urge you not to believe anyone offering to “give” you crowns. I hate being sanctioned and not being able to communicate. I wish I could find my old friends.!

You know..People have to be WAY more careful with their accouts I mean you have no idea how many people I hear say: I LOST IT Or, IT GOT HACKED but its kind of their the person’s accouts fault because the give it away cuz some friend says they will “help” them lvl up but really not.. -_-

I am guilty of sharing my account information with another player. Since I had to make a new account, I do not share anything with anyone. My old account was very dear to me. My character was Autumn Lifewhisper. To anyone, do not share anything with anyone. Trust me.

Good advice, Ambrose! I would hate to lose my account on Wizard101. I love my account, my pets, my level, my houses, my gold, my crowns, and everything. I love W101 and every world in the spiral.
