Today we have a very special guest blogger… Headmaster Merle Ambrose from Wizard101! Merle has some very important information for you about how to keep your KingsIsle Account safe and in good standing.
The popularity of any game brings with it those who seek to take advantage of other players. We have many ongoing safeguards to protect players from sharing personal and account information within the games, however it is up to you to keep your account information safe outside of the games.
We’d like to take this opportunity to remind our players that any website offering you Crowns, Memberships and items for free or at a discount should not be trusted.
Anyone that asks for your password is clearly doing nothing more than trying to steal from you.
Anyone that asks you to download a program to cheat at the game is cheating you.
Don’t fall for it, it will cost you your account, your characters, your pets and all your other hard-earned game rewards.
Theft is never ok, and players found to be in receipt of stolen goods will be sanctioned. It is up to you to keep your account information private, and if your account is found purchasing or interacting with any of these fraudulent websites your account will be banned.
Be sensible and ask yourselves if this person or website is really going to give you an item worth real money for free or for less than you can buy it regularly. The answer is no, they’re not. They’re going to take your account away and disappear, or worse, use your account to scam other people. It’s not a very nice thing to do, but the only way an account can get compromised is if you share your account information with someone. Some people mistakenly call this a hack. To be clear, giving someone else your account information is account sharing. This violates the Terms of Use and will result in your account being banned. You are fully responsible for all activities conducted through your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for any use of your password to gain access to your account and your account information.
Please heed our cautionary tale and protect your account information, or you will find yourself banned from all KingsIsle games.

I agree with Headmaster Merle Ambrose because I’ve seen many people making videos in youtube about “Crown Generator” when I’m seeing videos and I wonder why people fall for this and how does that video gets so many views when it clearly is going to hack your account and your going to loose everything that you did in your account. Thanks for this advise 😀

That is true he did, but he is only saying they will try and steal your account. Maybe you can create a weak account and get kingsisle to look out for it from people who want to steal. Just see what they ask for and then kingsisle will stop them 🙂

thanks for looking out for us because as a player when i got the olympian bundle people have been constantly asking me to gift them and also i know there is a lot a hackers out there and will not stop so thanks for reminding us to be careful.:)
I have enjoyed your game and the friends that I have encountered in the game. I also have been asked to give gifts from the Crown shop and it is a very good idea when a birthday comes along for a friend in the game you play with on a quest.

Yes, I’ve found that people let their greed blind them from danger way too often. A lot of wizards have visited my homes and glitch areas I’ve worked hard to build, and some have them have actually begged me to make a glitch area in their house FOR them, and plain out told me their login before I could type anything or tell them “No.” I didn’t use their info of course, but it’s still alarming, knowing how players just don’t see the danger. I warned them all about getting scammed by other players and to be careful, but a lot replied something like, “I know, but I trust you.” Most scammers act nice to gain trust to steal what they want, so that’s not a good answer to my warning.
In case wizards are using a housing glitch to scam others, I want to know if KingsIsle is okay with me making a full course tutorial with about 20 videos on how to do every housing glitch I know and explaining in full detail. The harmless creativity and fun that I found in the housing glitch is what keeps me playing, after all…

Thank you for keeping the game safe for all of us players. I keep getting players asking me to get a crown generator i have told them it is a scam but they dont listen I have told them that if they get caught using a crown generator to get free crowns and training points points they will loose their game. can you post something about this and possibly force these sites to close down

This just happened to my friend, he got hacked and someone deleted his warlord. Another person was running around the commons saying “I got hacked, someone said they would give me free crowns but they lied” and also complaining about a hall monitor that muted him for no reason

Highten security is what this game needs Headmaster Ambrose to ensure the well-being of those enojoying their gameplay. The wu realm really needs attention from Aquila, The Commons, to the Wizard City Dye Shop. Also please look over the issue of people begging in The Commons for Mounts, Card Packs, and Crowns.

I am one who got duped and am paying the price. Someone posed as a Kings Isle employee and I fell for it. I am happy I got my account back, but I am muted for life, not fun for someone who likes to talk in the games. KI people cannot tell you they work for KI, so report the guy right away. Any improvements to characters with be done by you in the games, not KI. All set ups for the new worlds will be done during down time, NOT during regular play time; Don’t be duped. DON’T be me.

Just want to make sure I understand. If I and another family member both have accounts, and one of us needs to go to the bathroom during a battle and asks the other person to play their character until they return, is that called account sharing? Are you saying we could both be banned?
What about if my brother goes off to college and says he’s not going to play anymore and I can have his account on Wizards, does this mean I could be banned for taking over his membership and continuing to play his characters?
I realize that sharing an account between two unrelated people is not allowed, but I did not think between family was considered an offense.
