Dworgyn’s Look Back at 6 Years of Wizard101
I’ve played Wizard101 since the beginning, and it’s been a lot of fun seeing how things have changed and evolved over time. Specifically for this blog post, I was asked to answer the question, “What were my favorite highlights each year?” That’s actually not as easy a thing to answer as it seems! I’ll break my favorites down by year, and hope I can give a little explanation to all my choices
2008
Wizard101 was brand new in 2008 and we were all busy running around The Spiral – on foot . . . without a mount! For me, this year was a time of discovery and I couldn’t have been happier finishing off the original final boss of Wizard101, the Jade Oni in MooShu. The Spiral was so brand new that we saw Halloween decorations for the first time in October and a then a Yuletide Tree in December. I think these festive touches were my favorite updates in 2008. There’s nothing quite as fun as seeing the world you know suddenly transformed with spooky or festive cheer.
2009
This is where it starts to get hard to choose just one update as my favorite. 2009 gave us Dragonspyre, followed by housing, then Open Chat, then Grizzleheim, then mounts, and finally school housing! How do you choose! I suppose looking back if I just had to choose one, I’d pick Dragonspyre. The epic conclusion of the first story arc was amazing. There is nothing like a new world to explore, and Dragonspyre specifically still holds a special place in my heart. I couldn’t be happier crushing Malistaire in his Great Spyre, and feel like I know the place like the back of my hand. It was an awesome feeling to know you saved the Spiral!
2010
This is also a hard year to choose a winner, but I’m going to have to say the introduction of Advanced Pets really changed the face of the game. Building the perfect pet is still a huge craze and racing pets was a favorite pastime of mine – I still wear my 1st age pet warlord badge with pride! We all waited for Celestia for a long time, but Advanced Pets changed the game forever.
2011
While I liked Zafaria and leveling my wizard, I really fell in love with the world of Wysteria, which would be my favorite update of 2011. I really liked the idea of a magic school competition and unraveling the mystery of this new world was a lot of fun. Exploring the strange schools of magic and meeting the off-the-wall professors that taught in Wysteria was a particular highlight. Zafaria would definitely be a very, very close second however.
2012
My life changed in 2012 as I transitioned from Wizard101 fan site owner to employee at KingsIsle, and while you can’t technically say the release of Pirate101 was an expansion to Wizard101 . . . it was just as important to me. Pirate101 took a universe I loved and gave it new depth. With Pirate101, I was seeing the game from the outside in, and it added so much richness to the Wizard101 mythology. That’s not to say that Avalon wasn’t one of the most awesome expansions Wizard101 ever had in my opinion, and I suppose if I strictly had to choose a Wizard101 update, Avalon would be it. I still have nightmares about the creepy house with Spider Legs!
2013
For me, my favorite update in 2013 was the new Halloween Quest with possessed vegetables and the hilariously spooky Nosferabbit. The Halloween quests really hadn’t changed since 2008 and their addition was a really welcome treat. In fact, I can’t wait to see these quests resurface in 2014!
2014
I have to give it up for fishing this year . . . even though the end of Story Arc 2 is about the most amazing thing ever. I just love the new fishing update! I love all the new hilarious fish, the stackable aquariums, and the fun way to spend my energy when I’m not gardening. Fishing brought new depth to an already incredible game and it was something that players have wanted for a long, long time.
Thanks for taking this look back with me throughout the years! While my favorite choices certainly may not be yours, I’m happy I was able to share them with you. Happy Birthday Wizard101!

i loved the year 2014 because khrysalis part 2 was released and a lot of new weapons and clothes came out. Due to this update many people could of continued their questing and try to get exalted and get the morganthe new weapons and new pets. This was an fun experienced and was the best year of all. Keep it up kingsisle and i hope new updates come soon because this will motivate new people to join the wizard101 communite and join us on the adventure of a lifetime.
My favorite year in W101 was when you guys do holiday things because there are new things available sometimes and the commons, shopping district, and olde town get decorated with holiday stuff. 🙂
I love wizard101 so much I play it like all the time but I do finish my homework first I made Emily dawn hunter for a reason I tried to make her like Elsa from the movie Frozen, but she’s way much more than that I love my friends list they are so nice and its like wizard101 sends me those friends to see that life is so much more than that and if I ever in my whole life if its me or someone else deleted Emily I, I would be heart broken. She’s level 16 and I love her she’s really the only one I really ever play its like she’s actually family even though she’s fake she’s means s much to me I can say really any thing and my friends like any song I know they know and we like sing them together and to tell you guys the truth I have more friends on wizard101 than I do in life, but the thing is that I never ever get a gift from my friends and if any of you know me I would like it if you would ask me what I want from the crown shop and I would like two things a girls guardian’s outfit that’s purple and light blue and a pair of blue permanent fairy wings if any one knows Emily dawn hunter I would like those two things please. I loved it when you added places after dragon spry it was a dream come true and motivated to play it more and more i play every day i play when i have home work i somtimes play when i should be sleeping wizard 101 is the best thing that has ever happened to me THANKS KING ISLE

This new series inspired new people to go and try to find the rarest fishes that are in those worlds. Hi there! When I look back at the past the thing I love about wizard101 was when the new worlds
came out cause I love this game so much that when a new world comes out it makes me so glad to continue this game even if I am at the world Zafaria I love to do the quests because then I can get more gold for new gear and for hatching so when each world came out I was very exited to continue this game. So, in conclusion this game is the best game ever! (Pirate101 too!) So keep the new worlds coming! I love your games they are so fun and I love text chat has well so keep it up!
To be honest, Wizard 101 was my very first English game, and I was addicted to it, oh so badly! Wizard 101 is one of the most fun game in my history of life, some may call it just a little game, but it’s honestly the best of the super best world cup games, people know that. My first school chosen was Ice, and then Life. My favorite year? Well…that’s a hard thing for me to say,so, I guess it’s an impossible thing for me to say, but I may tell you about my wonderful adventures on the game. I started as a 8-year old kid, a bored little girl, I was searching along the Internet until I noticed Wizard 101, my mind exploded with interest, it had an interesting name, so I decided to check it out. My first wizard was Darley, and then Alicia LifeHeart, which is the wizard I have now. Darley was an Ice wizard, and Alicia LifeHeart is a life wizard. I deleted Darley, Ice was just not my type for me, sorry for that! Life is the school for me, and I know that. I’m level 46, more than half of my exp. to be 47, right now, I’m working on a series for Wizard 101, I think it will come out great! Wizard 101 is a dream for all of us! It’s fun, and used creatively, I mean, it’s so original! I don’t know how the creator got all those original names, and the other workers should be happy working there! The Selena Gomez event was one of my favourite, and I wish for it to happen again! I beg it with all my heart, truthfully! And the time when you added fishing, heheh…let’s say I wasn’t such a professional at it…I won’t regret playing Wizard 101! It’s truly fun, I mean it, really! KingsIsle is the best game-making company ever! You don’t know how many people you’ve made happy! This game is too fun! I pronounce now this game the Number 1 Best Game Of Internet History! That’s all I can say, I wish I could say more, but, I just can’t describe how epic and fun this game is! It’s unpredictable to see what else is coming on 2015!
wizard101 halloween new pack that came out last year was awesome but i wish i had athe crowns to buy the pack and the year of wizard101 was awesome because well there was good times and bad times like some people would get in fights and some that would let you go to there house in the game to do the dungeons like winterbane, pagoda and also spiral oh, and thanks for the new bundle i like the new vine mount and the wand it was very cool so and the year was great i would like to see what you guys come up for this year.
my favourite year was 2011 i was new and there was so much to do i was just amazed i will always remeber it!!!

I love wizard 101 its always been fun I like what yall are coming out with I think yall are doing an amazing job with keeping it creative its really is a lot of fun but I think yall need to add a pet like the owl again cause not every one will alowy there kids to get some crowns and it makes it to where your like awesome I have the owl its really cool but besides that thank you for all yall are doing

My favorite year of wizard101 is the 4th year, because When the new worlds where releasing is where the Hype begins.
I really like collecting pets. Its really fun. I like crafting and also learning new spells. The game is challenging. I really liked when astros came out in celestia. I like collecting mega snacks.
Liked when Winterbane came out too.

Wizard 101 birthday is WICKED! There are WICKED gifts everywhere containing WICKED things. Wizard 101 is my FAVORITE game and always will be. I love the WICKED new crown shop update. I LOVE the Wizard 101 schools such as fire, death, myth, balance and all the others! The graphics are great and its amazing how powerful you can get. There is SO MUCH i love in Wizard 101 that I can’t name everything! I’ve played a bit of Pirate 101 and it is really fun. As soon as I get my awesome wizard to level 100 i’m so trying out Pirate 101. I love all of the Kingsisle games and in my opinion they are the best games you can get on a PC! I also loved the Grizzleheim update as well as the Wysteria update. They were WICKED. I’m done Wysteria and i am working on Wintertusk in Grizzleheim.

My absolute favorite year was 2014. That is because one its the year I joined, and because it has been the best gaming experience ever! I just love the challenge Wizard101 gives you. My brother and I literally stayed up all night long playing Wizard101 for many many days in a row. Its just too good too put down! I really enjoyed Wizard101s Birthday where we all got free gifts. I think that is very generous of Kingisle to do that. I am a true Wizard101 fan and I will never ever put this game down! Can I get an amen?

My favorite Year was 2013 that was when a lot of free gifts where given on December . There was also a lot of updates like the New World Khrysalis Part 1 came out I really want to give a round of applause to the people who helped for that update. Also about the tournament update because I won my first tournament!! I also want a applause for that update to. This might be off topic but in 2013 I heard that you helped with make a wish foundation. I started to get teary when I heard about that’s why I am one of your biggest fans, thank you Kingisle for giving the 11 year old player Ryan the relentless. My other reason why 2013 was my favorite year is because of the hair style update I am very proud of the people who did that update too. I also love the new crown shop items update. Also a lot of the bugs were fix I am happy about that update. Also I had to go trick or treating in Wizard101 in October. This was also the year when I got me first prepaid card for 29$. It was also the year when I got membership for 3 months and crowns too. I also loved the new bundles at the crown shop. I also loved the Aquila Mount Olympus Dungeon I got cool new Items. The main reason why I love wizard 101 is because I can finally play with me family and friends. My seconded to last reason why is because I can finally unstitch items because there was the one time when I stitched something by accident it was a total disaster! My final reason why is because of the contest I entered every single one I heard that the prizes where cool but I did not win any of them I hope I win this one. but the main reason why I did this message is because I am proud of the wizard101 producers. if one of the producers are reading this give yourself a pat on the back 🙂

i love wizard101 it’s a fun game that i love playing i play everyday something my mom get mad at for that.i love the 2014 upgrade. i love the storyline and spells…. its a great game better then all the other ones. i want to play wizard101 ever since it came out, I like Wizard101 because I think it’s fun, there’s lots of people to hang out with, and I also sometimes like to meet up with friends I know , i love all the change. I think I’m gonna be the only person to say this, but I really prefer Wizard101 over Pirate101. I like both games and both stories, but I haven’t been playing the actual Pirate101 game as much as I’d like .
Pirate101 may have a whole lot of new graphics, new system of doing things, in fact, the fact that it is NEW is why a lot kinda go for it. When it was just Wizard101, people would flip over for new worlds, new packs, etc. I like the new-ness of Pirate101. It’s great that the developer’s get more one-on-one with the constumer’s. That’s absolutely superb (I really wish more of that was on Wizard101). But I mean since most are bored and tired of Wizard101, this game is like a…compensation. at first i didn’t like the game but when i started to play i couldn’t stop ”i like wow this is going to take a few day” i play everyday so and try to get to a higher lever so i can save wizard and become the hero. 🙂
I’ve been loving this game forever!!!! I am so addicted to it I feel like I can never look away I love how this game was created. Its really unique and it was the first computer game I ever played. I love the storm school a lot the spells have really good damage and I love dealing with that type of strength. My favorite part would probably be the when Halloween comes around. I think the stuff is pretty amazing and its gear I would stitch with my battle gear. I love this game so much I could talk about it forever. Happy birthday 😀

Me and my brother and sisters play it together and there is so much to do in that game and its really fun. wizard101 is my favorite game of all times. My favorite year was 2013 because it was the first year I downloaded wizard101 on my desktop and it was the first day playing it too. you will never find a game as cool as wizard101. wizard101 is the best game you could ever find. I’ve been playing since june18,2009.I still look back at the past and I remember those amazing moments and surprises you guys(Kingsisle) brought to this game and my life in particular.Its really
nostalgic to see how far this game has progressed since its opening years ago.Every year new and creative ideas were implented to the game and always kept me on the edge of my chair just waiting to see what they were.In my opinion the opening of Celestia was by far the most exciting and anticipated update of the game.Kingisle,thank you for bringing a little magic to my life with this game.

My favorite year of wizard101 was this year. This year I gained new allies, found new worlds, and obtained new treasures. I faced new foes like none I’ve ever seen. My level rose to outstanding proportions as I fought. As I explored the spiral I found new wonders and new horrors. In wizard city I wiped out Malistaire’s forces. In Krokotopia I gazed at the great ruins of the kroks and stopped the kroks from rising once again. In Marleybone I fought crime and restored law and order. In Mooshu I brought peace and slayed all the evil Oni. In Dragonspyre I faced the Dragon Titan army and am yet to defeat Malistaire. I won and loss, found loot and lost coin, and I was felt joy and anger. With every spell I cast I make a new a stand, not just to the enemy but to the battles to come, and for the friends I gain. Here I have power, but a at the same time a risk. The risk of destroying everything around me and myself, and with that a thrill a rush of so many emotions. I loathed others, I gained pride for others, and most importantly they were proud of me. They needed me as much as I needed them and because of that we work together in order to stand our ground to help save the spiral. The spiral is a place I found fascinating, odd, and beautiful. So because of that I had a reason to protect it’s beauty and everyone in it, so then every time I looked up to the sky I try to imagine that someone in the spiral is doing the same. And so because of how I feel about the spiral I think that this year is my one and only favorite year in this game
I like Wizard101 because it is fun. People can connect. I like collecting pets and mega snacks. I like learning spells. I like Winterbane because it gives good loot like mega snacks. Winterbane is pretty challenging at tier 3 and up but gives a good pet pet for fire. I also like pagoda which is easier. I like that wizard101 also keeps challenges and extras like aquila and Waterworks. Also, Wizard101 gets your mind working when doing ranked pvp. Wizard101 also gives a lot of things away. It also gives discounts on stuff. On special occasions monsters like lord nightshade drop more stuff. I also like that wizard101 added spells like fortify and amplify. Basically all the astro spells. I also like the shadow spells. I like the story line. I figured out why malistere betrayed Wizard city. Wizard101 also gives a free trial. Wizard101 also improved over the years. When wizard101 began, I think there was only up to dragonsypre. Now there is up to krysalis part 2. I love gardening and crafting. I also like how you can keep 7 different wizards one account. Wizard101 also is a family game. I hope wizard101 has a great birthday. The crown remake over is cool. Castle games are fun too. People also makes house parties. I also like decorating houses. I like the castle medieval set. I like grub guardian and the dancing game. I like Dr. Von spell. I also like mastery amulets. I like 2014 because it has all the upgrades. I liked when i got my free hound and got free crowns. I like that you can refer people. Then, if you buy a purchase $6 or more you both get 1250 crown. I like that you can get most crown shop items from farming. I like the extra spells you can get like deer knight, catalan, krampus, and the others.I like death school because a lot of half health back spells.I like my secondary because it is strong (Guess school). I like the idea of training points. I hope a lot of people win. Happy birthday Wizard101!!!
Happy Birthday Wizard 101, my favorite game, for the for the last couple of years past!
This game has brightened up my gloomy days, with the comfort of chatting with good friends and helping others to achieve leveling up in pagoda or bane and questing.
I have appreciated all the new updates in the game for Khrysalis Part 2, shadow magic awesome and the may cast wands and gears your able to craft so cool!
The year I loved the most was last year in 2013.
The Aquila dungeons were awesome and the gears were helpful for me when I was questing and looking forward to leveling to max.
Special thanks to Wizard 101 for all the corrections during this year and last year you guys are so fast to fix problems for me.
I love the new hair styles, this was an awesome update, I have a few that I stitched they’re so groovy.
Castle tours has been really enjoyable for me getting fun ideas for creative decorations for my houses, wow the amazing talent out there!
Also the kindness of others sharing their Winter bane and Pagoda gauntlets with total strangers this has been very helpful for me to level my pets, with the snacks won there.
Thank you to everyone, who has their home open in castle tours and by doing so, is sharing thank you.
Most of all I loved the Christmas time period.
I am sure I am not only one that is grateful for the great give away’s and cheery bright ideas that were seen in the commons, round that time period.
Thank you again, I felt special and happy.
2013 was a sad time for me but the game wizard 101 always made my day complete.
So all these things that were available to me really helped my progress in wizard 101.
I can truly as say as a satisfied happy customer that wizard 101 is the best game ever to me
and I would encourage anyone seeking a game to give it a chance.

Happy Birthday Wizard101, to be honest my favourite year is when theres free gifts and especially christmas time. i only used this for about 1 and a half and now i cant stop using it. when i started this game wizard 101 i thought that it will be boring until i got use to it and it started to be more fun to play with. nearly all my brothers and sisters got this game. i wish to say more from my heart but i couldn’t well like i said before Happy birthday wizard 101 and hopefully you will become one of the best games in da world. thx for taking your time reading.

my favorite year was this year. i came back after taking two years off, started over and got crowns for the first time. i can safely say i have better friends here than irl, and it’s amazing to be able to walk around someone else’s life. i think that’s why people like this game, because the life you live is so much more amazing than we can ever know and it’s such infinite possibility. seeing the world from someone else’s view, it saved my life. in more ways than one.
