Celebrating Pride Month!
June marks the start of Pride Month, a time that highlights the LGBTQ+ community, diversity and inclusion, and celebrates people for being themselves.
While we’ve made a lot of progress towards acceptance in the past few years, we still have a long way to go. The LGBTQ+ community continues to face discrimination on a daily basis worldwide. It’s tough knowing that many of our employees and players experience these hardships just because of who they are and how they identify themselves. Since we are a gaming company responsible for creating immersive experiences that bring people from all walks of life together, we can and want to help forge safe spaces not only in our game and community, but outside of those places too.
To do that, we’ve teamed up with OutRight Action International this year for Pride Month.
Welcome the Rainbow Roller
Courageously colorful and full of life, the Rainbow Roller is our first ever Pride Month charity mount. All proceeds from the sales of this mount will be donated to OutRight Action International. You can find the Rainbow Roller Mount in the Crown Shop in both Wizard101 and Pirate101 for 7,500 Crowns. It will only be available to purchase during Pride Month, so don’t miss out on supporting this amazing cause!
Show Off Your Pride
When we rainbow-fied our social media icons for the very first time last year, you all were super excited and asked if we could put them on merch so you could show off your spiral Pride. We’re happy to oblige this year! Now through the end of the month, the rainbow Pride logos we revealed last year are available on shirts and hoodies on our Zazzle store. All proceeds from the sales of these products will be donated to OutRight Action International.
You can see the Pride merch collection here. If shirts and hoodies aren’t your thing, you can also “customize” the designs to put them on any Zazzle product you want!
Streaming for Charity
Join Kyle IceWielder and Hawkules for a very special charity livestream on June 11th at 12 PM Central Time! Much like the mount and merch sales, all money raised during the stream will be donated to OutRight Action International. Stay tuned for a more detailed schedule soon!
We can’t wait to celebrate Pride Month with all of you. We love to hear your stories and are humbled to know how much of a positive impact Wizard101 and Pirate101 have made on some of your lives. We look forward to continuing that and making our games and community the most inclusive places they can be.
With Pride,
The KingsIsle Team

Awesome!
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, this is amazing news and I feel so validated and welcomed that a company responsible for one of my favorite childhood games is so accepting and open. I first started playing when I was 7 years old, I discovered I was LGBTQ+ sometime in Middle School, and now I’m almost 20 years old and I still frequently play Wiz as a max level Death Wizard ❤
It makes me happy that y’all are doing this, but how do we know for sure that the company actually is a good ally when we need to choose between being a boy or a girl? I don’t wanna choose between not me or not me but with a feather on the hat.
KI if you really wanna support pride you should let wizards change their name and gender
get them again
This!! I made my wizard when I was 3, and since then I’ve changed my name and pronouns. It hurts to see my deadname, but I don’t want to abandon the wizard because of how far along I am.
I love this idea. Last year was the first year they were able to rainbow their logo. This year they are able to add in-game items. I have no doubt that gender is something that is in the works. From a developer’s standpoint, they really could just merge the 2 genders. Most of the customization is pretty fluid. It would bring back older players.
That’s great. Speaking of inclusiveness, I was wondering if Kingsisle would be making any steps towards making progressive character design options. Like taking away the “girl” and “boy” character options and making all character design options available to everyone with cross compatible hairstyles and clothing. As a gender non-conforming person, it would be nice to be able to not have to pick from simply “girl” or “boy”. Or instead of taking those options away, you could just add a third category called “neutral” or “nonbinary” or something with all character design options available.
This is cool for Wiz Im pretty sure allot of players are happy, big improvement Kingsisle!!
I am part of the LGBTQ+ community with both close personal friends and great online friends that are also part of the LGBTQ+ community as well, seeing that this gaming company is supportive about the LGBTQ+ is always a good thing in my book. In my opinion that any company that allows that both those who work within the company and customers are worth looking into. For even if one isn’t part of it does not mean it needs to be received/taken to a negative effect. I know that others part of the community who are on both sides will be absolutely welcomed to move forward in the good future where everyone is safe enough to be themselves.
Yes, I agree. Please make it possible to change name and gender for a wizard! Some of us created our high-level wizards long ago and now they no longer match our gender identity. If you could also post an update on the blog regarding something like this, as many people have requested it, that would be great.
this is amazing i feel right at home
honestly, I have loved this game for a while now. Seeing kingsisle be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community is absolutely amazing, being a member of the community myself. I have always wanted to see a gender-neutral option for your own character though
PLEASE let us change name/gender of our characters! Even if you need to use Crowns I would do it!
